Hi
Okay, this is our first :D time renting an RV and we're heading to Julian and Borrego Springs, Ca. Don't worry it's less than 2 hours away.2 adults one teen no pets. Here's the rookie part. Can we just park some where off the road over night ? I don't see RV's scattered about so I'm guessing you can't. Where can I find out the basic rules/laws reguarding this? Or can someone fill me in.

Thanks...oh...talk about rookie, we're leaving over Thanksgiving.

Don't know if it will work for this trip ... we often park overnight at Wal-Mart stores. We have a book with locations and phione numbers and call ahead asking for permission. If permitted, we park off to the side, next to a curb if possible and don't camp - no chairs outside, don't put awning outside. We always return carts to the store and make it a point to thank them for letting us stay. Only other thought - are there any truck stops along the way? Most let RVers stay but you might have to put up with truck engine/generator noise all night.
gypsyjournal.com has a lot of inexpensive books packed with practical info.
Safe and pleasant journeys!

posted this yesterday on the other thread ... have not been to anza borrego for some time, but the last time we were there you could park an rv pretty much anywhere in the preserve... there are several private & state campgruonds also... you can check with the state park service at 760-767-3052 or 760-767-3098... you must be in so cal, we are in glendora perhaps we could chat
