Has anyone had any experience with a cracked shower pan? I tried to fix it with expoxy but the epoxy didn't set up right and now I've just got a mess. The repair is holding so the leak is stopped but it looks awful. I've considered trying to buy the part and replace it myself but have had no luck looking for it in the Camping World catalog. PPL has it for $288 but that seems alot to pay for a simple piece of plastic. If you have had this done professionally on your rig, please respond. I guess I'll have to pay whatever it takes but obviously don't want to pay more than the job is worth, and would prefer to fix it myself if possible. Thanks.......

I would try and find an "insert pan" to fit, glue down and caulk around the top edge.

If the pan is fibre-glass, just sand it back out exposing the crack. You need to really make it 'rough', go to lowes,home-depot and get an fibre-glass epoxy kit , maybe a quart of each. there are two types one is an activating agent and the other is the epox. You have to mix it correctly to get a certain drying time. Put it on in layers, and build it up about 1/8 in over about 3-4 in wide over the crack,(fill in crack as much as possible). If you have plastic, then I agree, try to get a plastic insert and glue it over the old base.

Don't forget to drill a hole in both ends of the crack so that it does not get longer. Then apply your fiberglass.

I had a crack in a fiberglass tub. I removed the shower surround, then the tub, and repaird the botton of the tub. I sanded the area around the crack, and repaired with a fiberglass repair kit from walmart as per directions. It is a messy job, a two part system and a fiberglass mat. The result was a repair that you could not see from the inside, and it held for several years until I traded the motorhome. I think what causes the crack is inadiquate support under the pan.
