RV parking is my problem. It is too hard these days to commute in Los Angeles everyday. I want to live in my RV from Mon-Fri for work and then drive home on the weekends. Primary reason is selling the house and buying a new one is not very attarctive right now. Where can I park my RV for 5 nights a week? Can I just park it on a strret for one night and then another the next night? Don't need hook ups as I can refresh the tanks on the weekend. I even found a gas station that has free dumps with a fill up. These $50 a night campsites are just not practical. Can you help? Thanks,

Do you have a walmart or sams club or cracker barrel restaurant nearby? Most of them allow overnighters, don't over do it. Maybe stay at a different one everynight if you drive it to work. Your situation doesn't sound great, but maybe you can make it work for a short time.

It appears as though elainefaith is looking over a long period. This is "sticky", Wal-Mart, Sam's, Home Depot, etc. are not campgrounds. True most/many have used them at one time or another for a night and move on. In this case, she must for sure talk to the manager.

Hi murffdog! I just want to park the RV M-F. Don't want to camp and all that stuff. Just want to sleep in it M-F. Last thing I want to do is abuse any parking priveleges that have been granted by a company. Am I allowed to move from street to street on different nights? I find it interesting that I can't afford to move but I could afford to RV it M-F if it wasn't for all these parking restrictions and fees. Even renting a room these days is about $500. What's an urban person like me to do?

Sorry I mentioned elainefaith, I mean't malance. The locals will have you chased off the streets, that happens a lot in Florida. I have actully seen MH's parked in lots on cell phones looking for a place to park. Police move you along. How about at where you work?

An RV park or campground is your best option. Many charge less by the month than 50 a night. Many less than half that much. Call around or search the net thinking about this option.

Especially if they could rent your space on the weekend you might find a real deal by the month.
