My wife and I just purchased our first MH and are looking forward to a few trips this coming summer. Eventually we would like to be "most of the timers" as we anticipate early retirement. Will we find others in their mid 40's out there on the road or are most RV'ers more in their 60's and 70's. No problem with that we have always had a great time wherever we went with our TT but was just curious more than anything I guess as we spread our wings and see a little more of this great country.

It has been my experience that the age of your fellow RVers will depend upon where you happen to be.
If you happen to be in a snowbird area then you will encounter more RVers in their 60's, 70's & 80's. Then of course if you happen to be in a area like the beaches, sand dunes etc. you will find a much younger age group of RVers.
RVing is for all ages, it has something to offer everyone.

Road King!! WHODO is right on!! We have been at this for 35 years and we started when we were 30. We have never run out of friends regardless of the age difference.

We go south in the cold and have a group of friends that range from the mid 50's to 80 and in the summer we are up in NH and have friends that range from 20's to late 70's. It sure keeps us young!!!!!

You will find that most people that are serious campers, rvers or whatever you want to call us are playing on a level field, age, position, education really does not make any difference.

We are all in it for the same reason-FUN and ENJOYMENT!!!!

ENJOY and do not worry!!!!

You will meet a lot of people on the forum that you will make friends with long before you ever meet them in person. Then when you get to see them for the first time you will feel like a kid at Christmas.:D People that you pick at and joke with and buy a drink for when you meet.(Owe ya one John H:eek: )

I'm 28 years old and my wife (25) and I just bought our first motor home. It's a Damon Challenger 33' class A. We love it and are going out on our first adventure this weekend. Gonna stay close to home for this one I have already double checked most things but still we want to play the first outing safe being that we have 2 young kids.

Well when I first started driving my '56 Desoto had a hemi that would only run on super octane. I paid 33.9 cents per gallon and I could fill it up for $5.00. It was a Firedome that had full power windows seats steering and brakes. Two tone blue with wide whitewalls. I paid $385 for it as it was 7 years old.

We are in our late 40's and been camping all our lives. We go as often as we can.

We have evolved from camping with a motorcycle and a pup tent, to a pop up when we got kids. Then we moved into a bigger travel trailer with teenagers. Now they have grown so we keep on doing the motorhome thing, first a gasser, now a diesel. For us and two spoiled dogs.

In 5 short years we will be retired and plan to join all those 60's and 70's folks around their campfires and settle in to the Good Life.... the RV Life!

My husband and I are nearing our mid 50's and have been camping since 2000when we purchased our first fifth wheel. We recently purchased a 2006 Tiffin motor home and love it. We have both been retired for 4 years now and try to camp at least once a month if not more. We have several different groups we camp with. One group is from the Baton Rouge Fire Department where my husband worked for 30 years. The others are friends from church and neighbors. We have met some really great people on the road. :)

BJG is 58 and MFG is 55. We've been married 31 years and have only been RVing the last 4 years. Since BJG retired a little over a year ago, we recently (like 3 days ago) purchased our second class A. We're both looking forward to Spring so we can pick it up and hit the road.
Now, if I could only convince him that we do not need the 76 acres of property and the big house we have, as well all his "toys", we'd be full timing it!

We are in our early 60's going on 30's:D up till last year we Motorbiked accross this great country towing a camper behind the bike. We wanted to do some winter travel so we purchased a 5th wheel toy hauler , just prior to this purchase we bought a 07 HD2500 6.0 which according to GM specs will haul 12750lbs. Well not true according to DOT it's 9500 max., So while bringing the 5'r home from Tenn truck just couldn't cut it so we bought a Dodge 3500 D/D 6.7 that took care of the problem.Heck I remember hauling a 32 foot Holiday Rambler with a Grand Marque and never had any problems. The old saying they just don't make em like they used to:eek:
I will enjoy this board among other and hope to see someof you on the road.
Your as young as you feel

The wife and my self are both 38. I have been camping or RVing since the age of 3 when my folks bought a 13' TT in 1973. I tented for many years then had two tent trailers I pulled with a GoldWing. We are on our 3rd RV since we got married and I hope the last one for many years to come.

I'm 64, Karen ( is she looking over my shoulder..nope ) is 48. We love the life style. Take a walk in any camping area and I promise that before you finish you will have talked to many different aged folks. It seems that this choice of travel brings out the people who really enjoy making new friends. Oh, you will once in awhile find the loner, but he or she is rare indeed. You may begin
your RV travels after years of work tired, burn't out etc from all those years
at the old grind..but believe me after a short time you will renew your spirit again. As Nike sez.JUST DO IT!

Hi I'm 55 and my Hubby is 60 and my darling black poodle Buttons is 9. We are retired and have been full-time for 4 years. It takes a special kind of person to want to live 24/7 in a motorhome. We love it .My husband is my best friend and I am his. We do everything together (except Walmart, he won't go)
As said before you walk the camps or RV parks and find all different types of people and all with interesting stories to tell. Everyone we have met in the RV world is very pleasant, a whole different way of life.
You will meet all types of people and enjoy them all for different reasons. Keep some friends forever and some for the weekend. Have fun and enjoy life while you are blessed to have it.
Our only problem now is "where do we go next" all an adventure.
Enjoy, and keep a smile on your face and in your heart.
Janet and Gary ;)
