Hi yall,
I'm getting ready to tear loose from the stationary life and shed all these possessions I have acquired. I have decided to minimalize my yondering lifestyle to fit in a class B camper! I have been reasearching all over the internet and comparing the various features offered by the different manufacturers and now have a fair idea of what I need. One thing I hope you all out there may be able to assist me with is YOUR real-life experience living in and with these campers! Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Galileon,

We have a Roadtrek 200 popular which is 21 ft.I find it great for travelling and parking. It handles like a SUV on the road.My unit is fully equipped and after awhile you get used to the size.We live in the Toronto area and spend 4 weeks in Myrtle Beach each Nov and Feb-March we head down to Florida.I like driving it on the highways and going to a store is like driving a van.We find you do not need half the stuff you bring along. The microwave is the best thing for us as you can do alot with it.We have enjoyed travelling to the Keys.I guess if you like to travel and see the areas I would say a class B is perfect. If you just plan to go to one place and live I would say it might be a little cramped.

roadtrek,
You're right! the class b is not really what I need. I'm looking to do fulltiming with a maximum of boondocking. Although I'm a singleton, I do want to bring quite a bit of outdoor gear with me, as well as tools and hunting and shooting gear. So all though living space would be more than adequate for me, storage would not. I'm looking at Class c's now and TT's.
I signed up with RV Consumers:-www.rv.org- and got their CD's and books with my membership, I'm going through that stuff now. I highly recommend them for anyone like me, looking to make informed RV buying decisions.
Thanks again,
Galileon

We started out with a class b+ which has no front bed over the cab but has a entertainment system in the overhead in the front. We started with a 24 ft gulf stream b t crusier. We had it for 1 year before we retired and loved it. But we decided to move up to a 30 ft yellowstone because it had a separte bedroom and 2 slides. It is also made by gulf stream and we are living in it 6 months a year. It is a b+ because unlike the class c it doesn't have the bed over the cab.

Wowser! I never knew they even made class b's in that size! I checked out the specs and it sure is a beautifully made RV with a wonderfull floor plan. Thanks for sharing that information with me. The thing is since I posted this thread, with further researching and defining my requirement for a boondocking RV and my adversion to having a toad. I have come to realize my best option in an RV will be a Trailer, so I'm now exploring in that direction.

How about a Class B pulling a small covered utility trailer for your gear? After all the years of different types, sizes and styles of RVs, the Class B is the BEST!!! You can park anywhere, pick up and go anytime, get good gas milage, have everything you need, and simplify your life! We love ours! We've tried travel trailers, Class As, pick up campers and even a B+..............this Roadtrek iis the best for us at this time of our life...........no kids with us any more, just the dogs. Hope you find just what you are looking for.

I'm with Desert Dreamer, I love traveling in our Roadtrek. We are able to get into places that others would dare not go... for example some old towns in the New England States. If we are going to stay somewhere for a while we just put our little trailer behind...

and we can carry all that extra stuff (like a tent for the Grandkids:D ).
