Would appreciate reponse(s) from anyone who is using or has used the Centramatic wheel balancers. Are you satisfied and is there a significant improvement in the ride and handling? I understand they would cost me about $190. for a pair, and would likely use them only on the steering wheels.

I used them for over three years while I was an over the road TT oversized boat hauler from Miami to British Columbia. I had them on both tractor (6) and trailor (4) and and figured I at least doubled my tire life, got better mileage and the tires ran much cooler across the desert area. If the price of diesel fuel goes down enough for me to go back over the road, my next truck will have them before I take it off the lot. Another thing you might want to add to your tires is nitrogen. It will really make a difference in the temperature the tires run and as we all know heat is the worst thing that can happen to a tire. And as for ride, you wont believe the difference in ride until you experience it........:)

I have used them on my new 36 ft. Class A for about a year. I have not noticed any difference in handling or balance. It is to soon to notice any less tread wear. I just have them on the front wheels. .... However I feel they are a good investment. I have heard mant favorable stories prior to my purchase.

I put them on the steering wheels of my Class A, I tried them for 3000 miles and took them off. My rig has Michlins and they were too far out of balance for the auto balancers to handle.

Hugh, I have them on my HDT and have just sold my other OTR tractor (driver retired) have pulled the front set of Centramatics from that truck.
They are for 22.5 Steel Front axle Steel Wheel (model number 600-630) and will sell them for $120 plus freight. There is nothing wrong with them, they are used, but not abused, damaged or dented.
They do a wonderful job, and I believe that I've increased my tire life by at least 30% or more... they pay for themselves more than once. The change in the ride characteristics was wonderful. Even when you pick up mud or rocks it adjusts for the difference in the build up and when that shakes off, you never know, because it compensates for that too...thieir great.
I have the same set on my current HDT toter and love them, or I wouldn't have bought another set... in fact, had I known I was going to sell the other truck, I'd have pulled them off and put them on my newer HDT.. :D
