I'm new to this site and need help!!
I live on the east coast but my family is taking our first RV camping trip to California this summer '08. We are renting a 27' Class C, and have most of our trip planned except for one section. After leaving Monterey we will have 4 days to travel down to Oxnard, CA (Channel Islands).
Q: Where can we camp just north of San Simeon (Hearst Castle) near Lucia?
Most of the campgrounds are no reservations - We want to see the cafe at Lucia on the coast. Spend the night and get up early to get to the Hearst Castle for the day and then down to Pismo Beach on the 4th day.
We are open to any suggestions from other folks that have traveled this area for things to do etc. Kids are 10 and 14 yrs old.
