Wouldnt hurt to have all your window shades closed or put something in the windows to help keep the rv from going to the boiling point. Also set some mouse houses or traps in the house too. Or poison in the locations that mice might enter.

Be careful how you use poisons, a friend of mine did that while he went to FL for a family problem. When he got home 6 or 7 weeks later, the MH smelled terrible and dead mice were everywhere. He even had tiny feet hanging from the vents.

There is a mouse trap that you put the poison in and the mice enter it but they cannot get back out. Best to check it once a month so you dont end up with a device full of dead mice. I bought mine at IFA along with a stick type poison that killed them but did not cause them to explode like the stuff you buy in the stores.

We were told if you use dryer sheets they repel rodents and so far for the fourth year using them in the pop up and now our motorhome, we have yet to see any trace of a rodent. Also if you don't have em already I would buy some max air vents for the top and leave the vents open for the rig to vent.

do not leave any canned food in the MH. It can cook/explode in the can. Leave buckets of water sitting inside to add humidity. Also, fill toilet bowl with water and cover with plastic wrap, so it doesn't evaporate. My neighbors in Arizona have a park model and these are the things they do. They do not leave any vents open. dust will come in, ya know its windy over there! Keep shades down/ tire covers are handy too. Dona

As for leaving buckets of water for humidity, well, that depends!!! I'm guessing Palm Springs (I think that's what OP said....) is dry, so buckets of water would be ok. Now, if you live in a humid area, or store it in a humid area, you need to get Dri-Z-Air. I use that. I can't believe how much moisture it sucks out! Plus, the "moisture" is kind of oily feeling, I use gloves when I handle that stuff.
