I may be crazy, but I thought I once saw a gadget that helped you to light your rv oven without having to bend down or literally kneel on the ground. My hubby and I are both disabled and it is so hard to light our oven Do any of you great rv experts out there have any good ideas. Or have you ever heard of this gadget? I really would love some help (this might sound like a silly problem to some but it is a real PAIN) hopefully dianne

I haven't seen a after market lighter kit, that doesn't mean that they don't exist.
I would suggest checking with the manufacture of your oven and see if they happen to have a electronic ignition model and if it is possible to have yours retrofitted to electronic ignition. My only other suggestion would be to replace the oven with a electronic ignition model.
Hope fully some one else will have a better idea or a source for a after market lighter.

The fireplace lighter gadget works very well. One, which is said to be refillable but I have had no luck refilling, has a flexible shaft that can be bent to direct the flame to the pilot inside the oven without hardly bending. You can either hear the pilot light or can often see the reflection of the flame in the dark bottom of the oven. I never have to get down on hands and knees any more to light the oven. This lighter can be found in hardware stores, camping stores and various big-box stores. Around $6 to $8. Worth every penny even if you can't refil it.
