Being that we are reentering the RV arena, Id like to know if the members here use tire covers when they arent on the road?
I saw some at CW and was wondering about them.
Thanks.

We always use tire covers when we are going to be setting for a few days,
UV protection is important to tire life.

If you happen to be near a Harbor Freight Tools store, they carry a couple of different grades of tire covers that are a lot cheaper than Camping World.
Both Michelin and GoodYear have info on there websites concerning UV protection.

We use the tire covers if we are in one place for more than five days.

I'm going to be contrarian and tell you something that has been told to me by many RV'rs:

Your tires will last five years WITH the tire covers, and 60 months WITHOUT the tire covers.

That's it.

For everyone that hasn't read the Michelin RV Tire PDF Brochure, PLEASE DO SO!!
Go to http://www.michelinrvtires.com/michelinrv/index.jsp then click on The Tool Box "More", then Reference Materials, then scroll down to "RV Tire Guide" this is a 2mb PDF file that is down loadable.

All of the following listed items have supporting pictures/graphs/charts to make things easy to understand.
SERVICE LIFE FOR RV/MOTORHOME TIRES
THE IMPORTANCE OF TIRE PRESSURE
HOW MUCH AIR SHOULD I CARRY IN MY TIRES?
HOW TO WEIGH YOUR RV
USING BLOCKS TO LEVEL MOTORHOMES AND RVS
LONG TERM STORAGE AND RV TIRES & "The reason for Covering Tires."

There is many more areas covered, but I just wanted to point out the ones that most RVers use the most often and really have misconceptions about.
