Hello,
I just bought a 35' Fleetwood and want to tow. I have a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee, but cannot find a guide with models older than 2002. Would it be best to buy a dolly or is there drawbacks to that too? Any advice?
Thanks.

If it is 4WD it is tow-able 4-down with automatic or standard transmission.
For a list of tow-able vehicles go to Motor Home mag. scroll down to the dinghy tow list and then click on the link for past years for older models.

Demco towing also a dinghy tow list http://www.demco-products.com/Pages/work.html click on RV products and then scroll to the bottom and click on dinghy tow guide.

We have been towing a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4WD for five years with no problems. I am reasonably sure that all Jeep 4WDs are towable you do need to read the owners manual for details. Owners manuels are available for older jeeps, I don't have the address, a Jeep dealer gave me information on where to place an order.
I hope this helps, Darwin

I see more Jeep's and Subaru's than anything else.

I have owned a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4WD since new, and have to towed it all over the US, including 4 times up to Alaska. If it's an auto transmission, simply put the transfer case in neutral (make sure it's in neutral), then shift selector in park, turn key one position back from on and you're ready to go.
