With less than 2 weeks to go before our 1600 mile summer road trip in a Class C I'm looking for possible ways to save on gas. I'm considering a gas rebate card from Chase, or have heard that you can save 3 cents per gallon at participating WalMarts/SamsClubs when you use their cards. (I haven't been able to find out where their participating stores are though.) Just wondering if anyone out there has any experience or thoughts on these things.

There are several different CC companies that are offering from 3% to 5% rebates on gas. American Express, Discover, & Chase is just a few.
For more info on Chase CC gas rebate go to http://www.chase.com/Chase.html and follow the links.
Oh yeah we have all three and use them to buy fuel, when buying 100 gallons plus at a time any thing to save a couple of bucks.

Try flying J . They give out a discount card to use at there travel plazas and a lot of them will let you overnight also. Usually low price and give additional discount for volume purchased in certain amount of time. just go to flyingj.com for list of nationwide plazas and also current prices for gas/diesel. John

Good Sam prices are usually set to five cents less than average. You have to buy a membership for 30 dollars a year. Walmart I think is 3 cents a gallon. But in their case you have to have a walmart card. Good Sam and walmart cards do not interchange for discounts. Most credit cards that pay you for purchases pay you the following year after using it. Its nice if you can get the cards. I already have some credit cards that dont pay back and I talk to the companies that have cards that do pay back and they will not exchange the cards nor give us the type that do. So we are cancelling them as we pay them off and telling them that they want to screw us so to heck with them.

Fred Meyer give you a 10 cent discount after you accumulate $100 of in-store purchases. This is an "accumulation," not a "must do in one shopping trip." Great deal! However, if you fill your RV, you must press "pay at window" or you won't get the discount on the entire fill-up, it clicks off at $75 and you have to do a subsequent transaction.
If you have the special Fred Meyer Mastercard, you get a 15 cent discount. However, the Fred Meyer gas stations are widely spread out. Not too many of them.

Right now I use smiths grocery, Safeway grocery, albertson grocery, and Winn Dixie grocery cards that give you discounts at their stations if you buy groceries from their stores. I also use the flying J card which gives you gas discounts when you buy in their stores or restaurants and the discount depends on the amount spent in store.

Besides the wal-mart price for gas or diesel you can purchase one of their gift cards and get an additional 3 cents off.

I don't know if the whole country has sheetz gas stations but I use the Chase CC with the Sheetz partnership. We save a few cents on the gallon and everything we buy adds up points to get $25 gift cards back being able to choose a GC from Sheetz or places like Home Depot or Borders.
