I bought a 2007 Damon Motor Home in Nov of 2007. It has a TV in the front and one in the back. I just recently found out that the one in the back, in a cabinet, was an analog only TV. In Feb 2009 it will need a converter box to receive digital signals from the antenna. Of course, it is fully built in. It seemed to me that Damon should take some responsibility for using an analog only TV in a unit that was sold in 2007. It would be very hard to install a box w/o cutting up the cabinet. You pay a lot of money for a unit, you don't want to find out it is a TV that you have to replace or make major changes to have it work properly. Well, I contacted Damon and after going round and round, they say they have no responsibility and will do nothing! I have turned it over to the FTC, but doubt I'll get any help there. Beware!

Seems to me you have some kind of box in the front that your antenna come into and than goes to both boxes. You could put your converter in there. Yea you would have to get up possibly to change channels but its that or pull the tv and create a way to install the box in back.

FWIW, We just got an 05 Monaco that also has two sets.
Without taking the sets out, is there a way to tell if they need the converter or not?
Thanks.

There are several different items that will tell you if it is digital or not.
1)The remote control will have a (.) or a (-) on one of the buttons on the channel number pad area. {example; input button with "." on it or a "-"
The (.) or (-) is used with the new digital channels (example; 13.7), it is going to be a little confusing for some at first.
2) On the front of the TV will be a {DTV logo} or even a {HDTV logo}.
3) The vast majority of digital TV sets are flat screen TVs.
4) look in the owners manual.
5) There are other things that will indicate that it is digital but they escape my memory at the moment. (Dang CRS gets ya every time)

Now that you mention it, both the controlers have a - on the channel pad.
Im hoping they are digital.
Nothing on the front of the sets other than the manufacturers name and three RCA type plugs for audio and video inputs.

Donnie: the way I found out was to put the antenna up and turn on the TVs. If you get more than one channel on a given number you are ok. Like 13 and 13.1 etc.

I found out my putting the antenna up and getting piss poor channels so than I bought the converter and got ten stations as clear as a bell so knew mine were not digital.
