How many miles per gallon do you get on your RV? Be honest. This is just between you and cyber space. 6 or 8 or 10? Take heart. it could be worse. The cruise liner, QE 2, moves only six inches for each gallon of diesel that it burns.

Being the a*** retentive numbers person that I am, I track my mileage on a spreadsheet with each gas fill-up. I'm happy to report that I'm averaging 8 mpg. Forest River Sunseeker, Class C, 450 engine.

On the last and only trip, so far, with our 05 Monaco, we got between 8 and 9 using a spreadsheet I have.
This was doing between 60-65 mostly.
I thought that was good considering we had wind most of the way.

Alot of hill driving in that trip. The previous owner said he got 9-10 mph on flat groung going west. I averaged 9 on a shorter trip to Indiana on the Illinois border though.

BMK you braggin or complainin, if I was pulling 9000 lbs I would probably get 35 mpg but my truck I pull as a toad weighs half that much by itself.

I get 7.5 at 2000 rpm in a 37 ft motor home weighing in at 26000 lbs with an 8.1 ltr gas. I also pay 3.95 a gallon right now.

I know where you are. When is the last time you bought gas? It's up to $4.29 where I live, which means the Costco, which is 20 miles away will be selling at $4.10 or so...... And this means, where you are gas is gonna cost even more than that!

I know where that Arco is, it tends to be cheap for that area.....

Sedro Woolley also has a Gulf Station, it's on the west side on your way to Burlington. That one tends to be lower than other stations, but it's an "older" type gas station.

Well I now have a new toad a Saturn Vue, they say 29 mpg with it. We shall see once we have run a few tanks thru it. And if its like my toyo that was rated at 22 and got 30 to 35 we may get 35 to 45. Seeing its 1000 lbs lighter than my last toad I may also get better than what I get now for mpg on the motor home as well. Wont know until Sept Oct time frame.

Think what you want, but the Dodge gets exactly what I said both with the on-board calculator and hand calculated. It's not my fault y'all have the wrong vehicle. It's a reg cab 4x2. No added weight with extra cab space and 4 wheel transmission and it has 3.73 rear gears. I have got up to 29/mpg at 50 mph in 6th gear. Eat your hearts out.

Even though I get 8 mpg on average, I had this brilliant idea! I would fill up when it was half empty, so it wouldn't be as painful. Obviously, I would be filling up twice as much as usual under this plan, but it should be less painful. NO IT'S NOT! I filled up when I was at half full and it was still over $100! I'm surprised the Costco took it all, normally Costco clicks off at $99 and you have to do two transactions.

Got a 2000 F250 PSD with about 60K miles on it, pull a single slideout 27ft 1999 model 5er that goes about 9K GVWR, been averaging about 11 MPG but last time out got about 12.5 or so, engine is finally getting broke in... with diesel at 5.00/gal out here in CA don't go all that far anymore, get these oil people out of office and sanity back in!:) :) :)

Hey oldguybc, when you get the oil people out of office what do you intend to put in your tank. I don't think GREENIES and pie in the sky will run an engine. I know corn oil ethanol isn't the answer and wind power won't get my diesel up the hill. BIG OIL is the only people that can get us out of this problem if the left will only get out of the way.

The other guys are the ones that vetoed drilling here every time it came to a vote. Heck that man that played around in the Oval office, instead of implementing an energy policy, vetoed drilling in ANWAR 10 years ago. We would be pumping that oil now. The U.S. will be history if we don't start drilling now.

Hey DL, if you ever can get to Utah and or Colorado take a run along Hwy 40 thru utah to 139 in Colorado down to Rangely, that area and you may see more drilling than in oklahoma and texas combined. We dont need to do offshore drilling or alaska drilling. They are begging for drillers in Vernal, Utah paying from 16 to 80 dollars an hour for riggers. Offered me a job two years ago. My son has a drilling company and he has 15 drilling teams out and has a hole come in every month. Most of his oil wells he has been capping until they can find someone to refine it. He drills in Utah, Colorado, and Wyoming. What wells are not coming in oil have come in natural gas which is keeping him in business cuz questar is buying all of them.
Utah also has one of the largest oil shale deposits in the world they claim. Also they say the area off shore would only produce 15 years of oil max. Why bother?

OK, DL, what I meant was Big Oil sticking MY money in THEIR pocket. I'm just a retired guy trying to get from point A to point B without it costing me my entire SS check... as far as availability why are we sending the Alaskan oil we are pumping out to the far east? Answer: more money to be made for the big oil people:mad: . I'm not a left wing guy by any stretch but I'm also not a fool. We zip up the Dubya & Chaney people's pocket & we'll put a significant dip in what we see at the pump. That's a no- brainer!!

Funny thing just happened.
Gassing up at Costco, I had a gal pull in with a brank new Hummer.
She said what a great vehicle it was then asked me, with a smile, what I got for mileage.
When I told her, her grin turned to a frown and she said she wished hers could do that good..
Made my day:)

I did some research on ExxonMobil, I found that their return on investment was 8% (Reported on Fox News). Who owns the big oil companies, if you have a retirement account as I do, we are owners. I found that I have stock in several oil companies. Would we invest in companies that do not have a good return on investment. Many of the companies in my account have higher returns.

Hey, I live in the CA Bay Area, go by those huge refineries at Richmond, Pinole, San Pablo, they seem to be running at about 10% capacity, draw your own conclusions!! So the Exxon Valdez is bringing the refined petroleum bac here? Yeah, right! Reality and truth.
6/1/2000 gas- $1.78 diesel- $1.26 !!!!!
6/1/2008 gas- $4.23 diesel- $5.37 !!!!!
Keeping up with inflation? GNP minus 5.8% during that period...
