We had a "slight" mishap with our awning.
Getting ready to pack up and head home.
Went through the procedure of rolling the awning up.
When it got up to the coach, I got a surprise when the whole awning came down.
It seem one of the ends broke.
Now comes the fun part of getting the thing repaired.
I think it should be under warrenty but we ll see.
Now for my question, has anyone had to get theirs repaired and what was the $$$$$?
Thanks.

FWIW,the awning is made by Carefree model BN3N4 and The part that broke is the piece on the left side of the awning that holds the awning on to the support arm.
We feel this should be coverd under Warrenty.
Bad thing is I contacted CW yesterday and was told they dont carry Carefree.
Which means Iv got a week to get it repaired as we have a trip planned at the end of the month.
Gonna call a couple of places Monday and hopefully I can get it in and repaired before we leave.

Your awning should be covered by warranty, you can go to Carefree web site and click on "Dealer Search" and then enter your location, this will bring up a web page of authorized service centers in the area you specify.

Thanks Whodo.
Ill call the ones listed near me and see what can be done.
Iv gone thru all the folders that we have from Freedon Care and
Coachnet and havent found anything mentioned about the awning being covered.
Its getting a little frustrating.
Ill let y all know the results.

UPDATE
Contacted CW and got the response that they dont carry that brand and couldnt help me but recommended someone else.
Asked them"What good is the warrenty you give for the coach if you cant repair it?"
Their response was Sorry.
Went to the Carefree website and found a couple of repair places close to me.
Contacted one of the places on Monday and took it in Tuesday.
Picked it up the same afternoon.
They claim it couldnt be done under warrenty because of the year of the coach.
Anyway, its repaired.
Im just a little miffed at CW .

Thank you for the update. Hopefully it wasn't too expensive.
This does raise a question though, is the warranty you have on your RV from the manufacture of the RV (for the awning) or do you have a CSP plan from after market like CW?
If it is a CSP plan (CSP = continued service protection) then it is understandable that they did not cover the repair.
In my experience a CSP plan is just you donating your money to them, you have a better chance of getting something back by going to Las Vegas and tossing the same money blindly on the Crap's Table.

Whodo,
When we bought the coach, we got two warrenties.
One from Coachnet and the other from Freedom.
After doing some checking, neither one covered the awning.
From what I can tell, everything else on the coach is covered.
As for the cost, a little over $400.
From this experience, I m a little concerned about if something happens and we breakdown
on the road.
Now that Iv got this problem fixed, Id like to know if the awnings on the slide outs, also from Carefree, are supposed to have some kind of cover on them?
Thanks again.

Donnie I don't think coachnet provides a continued servie plan but rather an emergency roadside assistance which i have & recommend Good sam's emergency roadside service is great as well.
However, I have had serious claims issues with Good Sam's CSP and recently dropped their coverage.
I replaced my CSP coverage with ACC Warranty Services 888 299 4025 you may wish to check with them.

Yes and No.
No they are not normally a standard item, you need to order the awnings with them or have them installed after market with new awning fabric.
Yes you can get them with the aluminum roll up cover. We have them on all of our MH awnings including the widow awnings. We have Carefree awnings all the way around.

The reason I asked is the guy at the repair shop asked about them.
I got to looking at mine and they dont and was wondering if they should have them for added protection.
George
Thanks for the info.
Ill check them out.
