Now that we have bought our coach, I guess we ll get a lot of info in the mail from different camping membership outfits.
We received one from a group called CampClub USA.
Has or does anyone use this group and if so how are they?

Well have not used them, reason being I looked at where all their rv parks are that support them and figured my chances of hitting one in a year would be few and far between. Its a good deal if its something you will use. The big one use. I used to have KOA and enjoyed it while I used it but found I did not use it enough to justify keeping it. Right now I have Good Sam, and I am military, plus I have memberships with a few rv associations that have some associations with a few parks. I have not used any from the associations but I am a member of these organizations cuz they pertain to my rv or military.

I purchased passport america which is similar to camp usa and have been using all over the country. Passport works very well. Most parks are close to the interstates so while traveling easy to find a place to stay. Yu pay half the posted price and have found this to be true. There are blackout dates and some restrictions at some parks and extra expenses at some if you want 50 amp or more than two people, but it states this clearly. Hope this helps.

Passport America is nothing like Camp Club USA and cost more. And trying to get into any parks that support PA during holidays or peak seasons is near impossible. Most PA parks I went to when I had it I would not recommend to any one. And a PS to that I have seen a lot of PA parks that will give a discount equal to PA if you are a member of any other organization or club.

After checking out both websites, neither one have any campgrounds near where we usually go.
What I was looking for was along I 15 between Nevada and Salt Lake City Utah.
For right now, Ill stick to GS and see what happens when we start going out more.
Thanks for the info.

Happy Camper is a another discount club that has not been mentioned in this thread. There is a lot of overlap in the member parks of all three; Happy Camper, Passport America, and Camp Club. Parks that belong to these discount groups are typically in areas where they do not fillup on a regular basis or have a definite off season, but stay open. There are some areas where none of these groups have any participating parks.

Passport America Info:
We renewned our PA membership last Nov for 3 years at a cost of $120. We have been able to use it at 6 different campgrounds since then, that we checked out on www.RVparkreviews.com for acceptability. Total 50% off campground fees savings, $495.

I will agree, that there are some that aren't high quality CG's, but you find that anywhere, with any club, I've seen KOA's,which are supposed to be near the top end of CG, that I wouldn't give ten cents to stay at.
If you only camp in a certain area, or for limited time a year, then probably NONE of the clubs are for you, as you will probably take a long time to re-coup your investment. My PA membership paid for it's self, the second time I used it, we wouldn't be without it.

Since I have been a member here in the forum I have been against PA because of pervious membership. Funny that since being here and complaining I have recieved three different invites for life time gold membership with PA for 299 and 399. I think they are trying to shut me up.
The wife and I spent a year on the road traveling around the US with a pickup pulling a tent trailer and we found no PA sites near any of the parks we visited or when we needed a campsite along our route that was near the route. We seen plenty in our book that were out of the way ten miles even 5 miles but good grief I dont like traveling off the beaten path for any rv park.
Since quitting them I have come across pa parks a couple of times and since I was a member in other organizations they gave me the same 50 percent discount they give to members. Now go figure that one out. Why buy something I can get for free. Or just by mentioning I am a member of all these other wonderful clubs and organizations.

Happy days, the day after tomorrow is Labor Day and I am in a Passport America park at half price. I don't know what turned you against PA but I find their parks to be clean and in good shape. We have been on the road for three years and I have found one park that I would not stay in again. On the other hand, I was looking at parks in Ellensburg WA and they have a KOA there that people have rated 1 4 4 and 1 out of 10. My point is that you will find poor parks everywhere if you look hard enough.

Two things turned me against PA. One is the fact that one has to drive way out of ones way to stay at one and the second is the couple of years we had it we could not get into a single park in the US during a holiday weekend for the 1/2 price they all wanted full price or dont bother them. And believe me we called quite a few during our two years. In two years we stayed at two parks in 38 states of traveling. That did not save what I paid for one year let alone two. And yet everyone says they saved the membership in no time and parks were everywhere. I have stayed at two parks that were PA in the past two years that charged me the 1/2 price cost even though I was not a member just by saying I was a member in the half dozen other clubs I am in. So why buy what I get for free.

Gotta say we have used Camp Club several times. However, we have used our Coast to Coast way more. RPI too. Camp Club parks are not always easily located. We did find a lovely park on a beautiful river and the sites handle our 42 foot motorhome. It's worth the money to be at that one park however.......... :D :p ;)

We just bought Camp Club USA because with our travels this year we think we will use them and it will pay for itself. We shall see.

I will always drive up to 15 miles off the interstate to save 1/2 of a park fee. We normally choose where to stay by what we want to see and do in an area. for us to park for four or more days and save money, PA and CCA pay me back very quickly. But I must also agree that many places have given me a better discount then GS just because of AAA, AARP, Miliary etc. never hurts to ask when you call them.

FWIW, a lot of places we have stayed at ask if we belong to AAA or AARP.
Very seldom is GS mentioned.
The main reason we havent joined anything like Camp Club, or any of the other groups is because they dont have anything close to where we are headed.

I am a fulltimer and also a workamper. I have been a Passport America member for many years.
Last spring I went from Florida to Pennsylvania to work' I stayed at PPA parks every time I stopped. In the fall I went back to Florida and then to Arizona to work. Once again I used PPA every where except Washington DC.
I am now headed to northern California and once again I am using PPA. Most of the parks have been very nice. Before I head out I plan my trip to stay at PPA parks. Some times I may have to travel a little farther than I planned to do this but it is worth it. I also call ahead to make sure they take PPA. When you tell them you have PPA you can tell by their response what kind of reception you will receive when you get there. Then you can decide if you want to stay there.

Camp Club USA is owned by Affinity Group...the same organization that owns Good Sam Club, "Trailer Life," "Motorhome Magazine," Camping World, et. al. Depending upon your view, that could be a good thing or a bad thing. For me, it's a bad thing and I wouldn't ever join CCUSA, just like we refuse to stay at a KOA park.
We do use Passport America on occasion when we're traveling from one place to another and they happen to be convenient to our location. We mostly boondock (like we're doing right now), but we do use PA park enough during a year to justify the annual fee.

FWIW, I checked out Coast to Coast s site and on the FAQ, is states that they require a membership in a home base campground.
IMO, this sounds a lot like Thousand Trails.
Maybe Im wrong.
Beside, as I stated in a earlier post, they dont offer anything along where we travel.
