we are heading into canada and have a rifle we need to store somewhere before we cross border. we are not planning on going in and out of border from same location so cannot store there. we thought las vegas area would work since we will go south in winter and be near there both ways. but can only find storage of units that are 5x10 or larger at 40 plus dollars per month this is definitely overkill. anyone got any ideas for us we must have safe place as rifle is family heirloom and means alot to my husband.

I would check with gun shops or ask the police department for a place known to be safe and secure.

you will prob have to find family or a friend if you don't want to pay for a storage unit.

Ask your local Police Officers what gun shop they do business with. You can tell the owner of the shop about the recomendation and inquire if he will store it for you. Another suggestion is if you have an Attorney that represents you, purhaps they might keep it safe until your return.

What kind of guns are you talking about? I believe that Canada allows hunting type weapons to be carried in your rv.

that depends on what part of canada. the eastern "states" will not allow ANY kind of firearm across its borders. the western states will allow a single shot shotgun, breakdown type only. they may even limit caliber, ie 16 gauge, not 12.
