Hi, I have about an 85% chance of having to go to the Brownsville, Harlingen Texas area. If Homeland Security signs the contracts, I'll be helping to build the Border Fence. Any Idea's of nice RV parks in Brownsville or Harlingen? Would be from Late August to January. [U] Don't need a "resort." Do need reasonable pricing, free cable, 50 amp service. Grandkids are nearby so a pool would be a plus. Having a RV park near shopping, etc. would also be nice. Has anyone spent the fall in this area? Whats the weather like? I would appreciate a low crime area, if that is possible in south Texas. Actually any information at all would help.

Contact the visitors center at Harlingen and tell them you need information packet for area RV parks. You will get all the information you need. Monthly rent starts at $100.00 per month and goes up from there depending on what you want and/or need.

Thanks, I can look up a lot of RV parks on line. I was hoping someone had up close and personal opinion. But, thanks for the input.

Bill sent me an offline email and I will send you a reply I spend winters and work 8 miles from harlingen you want to look for discount cupons for encore parks but not fun and sun its about 2,500 for three months.

Bill, If you have never been to the valley ,you are in for a treat. The towns are so close to each other you hardly know when you leave one and go into the next. We have wintered in Edinburg (which is too far north), Mission and Weslaco. Weslaco is wonderful!! We stay in Leisure World which is very reasonabl and friendly. As I understand the fence is to run along the levy and you probably will have to work all along that area. Weslaco is situatrd in the middle and not far from any of the main attractions.If you have a passport membership you could go down there and stay one half price and take your time to price all the different parks.
