I'll be attending a wedding on Michigan Ave in Chicago in August. Can anyone tell me if there are any RV parks within a 1/2 hour or so from there. We have a Prevost and need a big space. We have three Bichons and do not want to leave them behind.

We live 25 miles southeast of Chicago. There are only a few campgrounds in the area but you might want to check out Leisure Lakes near Joliet. It is right off Route I55 and the journey by car would take 30-45 minutes to downtown Chicago, depending upon traffic and time of day. It is a heavy truck route and you don't want to hit it during rush hour! We have toured this campground for future reference as we are going fulltime this summer and need a roosting place 2x a year when we return for visits. It was clean and well-maintained and had space for larger rigs. Enjoy your visit to our Windy City!

In Joliet Illinois there is a rv park at the Empress Cassino, very nice paved lots, clean , water and electric only.

Hi! We have been to Leisure Lakes in Joliet. Be aware that many many of the sites are reserved for their members and they seemed to have the best sites which is to be expected. The one that we were assigned was big enough but was right on the HWY & very noisy. Make sure you tell them what size you are. We have a 45 ft 5th wheel. People were freindly. There are not a heck of a lot of CG in Illinois. We are from there & it's hard when we want to go back & visit family & friends. We went in with Passport America. We love PA it sure helps with the price of things these days.We have been fulltiming for over 14 years now & things have really gone sky high so PA helps a lot. Good Luck with Illinois & the wedding. You might want to check these to places out. Kane County is a great spot on the west side just off of the toll way. No sewer hook ups.
Never stayed at Windy City, reviews are mixed.
