We are considering spending a month or two in Mexico this coming winter. What information can you give novices to going south of the border? We are looking at the north east part of the Gulf of California.

Probably the best advice is travel with someone who has done it before, try to enter at a less busy crossing (not tiajuana probably), don't drive at night, stay at designated campgrounds - not in parking lots, stay away from border towns - that is where the trouble spots are. check out the web site: www.ontheroadin.com for many great tips. Get church's book on camping in MX and take it with you, invaluable.

I agree, Mike and Terri Church´s guide to camping in Mexico is a must have. Also look in the larger book stores or over the internet for the map book "Guia Roji" It took me a few years to find out about it but the maps are updated every year and very accurate. With those two books and a sense of humor RVing is pretty easy in Mexico.
