Is there a time and day when those of us in this group when we could meet and chat in one of the rooms? I would like to get to know you folks a little better and it might be fun.
Any time/day suggestions?

Gary,
Military chat sounds good, I think it would be fun too. I type slow but I'm willing to give it a try, like we say "no guts, no glory" LOL Maybe we could start by looking for eachother on chat each evening after dinner (8 - 10 pm). What do you think? Do you have a preferance on a time and room number?

One problem, when you say 1800 hrs. is that GMT or???
Anyone else want to join a military Commanders Call? I'll toss out a time/day.
Here ye, Here ye, all G.I.s are hereby ordered to attend our "Commanders call" at 2000 hrs Eastern, or 1700 Pacific time, Tuesday Aug 19, 2008. Uniform of the day is t-shirts and levis, shoes optional.
BYOB and don't worry about slow typing or misspelling....(SP ?)

You will find Campfire Chat in the light blue options area at the top center of the page, click on it. After you enter and login there are 3 chat rooms. The room for our Commanders Call has not been identified yet so I'll toss out Chat Room #3. Let me know if you have any problem finding it.

My apologies for the no show. I had every intent to be there however my CO changed the plan of the day. When I objected she made it clear that failure to execute the mission would result in grave consequences. I'm sure you know the old saying "if momma's not happy nobody's happy". LOL
sirslink:
Is that 20:30 CST?
ALL:
Shall we try it again on Tuesday 26 Aug at 2100 EST or 1800 PST.

Think I will be out of the net most of next week. We will be out in the National Forest with the Motorhome and there just ain't no internet out there.
Oh well, we just have to sacrifice sometimes. Have a good time, and I'll try to join in when we are back home.

I am not giving up.Perhaps after things settle down in the Fall, we can all get together. Talk it up with your fellow G.I.' and their spouses (also most welmome).
Post a day and time and see what happens.

Hi All,
Gary, at this time I don't foresee any booby traps so if the situation don't change I will do my best to make it to Commanders Call this evening between 20:00 & 21:00 CST. Will anyone else be able to be there?

Just surfing the threads and see you on there quite a bit, just wanted to acknowledge that we are from the "old corps" dh is 1969851 and dw is w719035. Not a retiree, but spent 10 yrs in the corps, and three tours in vietman. Have now decided to take the MH and spend some time in a warmer climate, Wisconsin is just getting too darn much snow. semper fi

sgtdear,
Welcome aboard! Glad to have you join in. Feel free to post on the USMC thread with the rest of us Devil Dogs. Many good Marines (once a Marine always a Marine) here to talk with. Judging by your Serial Number you must have joined our beloved Corps in the early 60's. We have the honor of having a couple of fine Marines from the Chosen Reservoir on the USMC thread with us. Hope to hear from you there on a regular basis.
