OK....here is the question. How many of you out there have bought a new (used 2002 Expedition) while on a VACATION and had to transfer your old motorhome into your new motorhome in the dealer parking lot? AND anyone out there have an Expedition 2002? 34 feet

I have come from a Winnabago Adventurer 32ft (which I loved but it was time for an change) and I am having a bit of trouble making the adjustment.

Thanks for any input.

Only a difference of 2', a 32' to a 34' shouldn't make any difference, you have a little more storage. :)
In late 2006, I did this with a 2000 31' Tioga for a new 2007 31' Tioga at an RV show in Hershey, PA.. In the parking lot, we did the paper work, moved "stuff" from the 2000 rig to the 2007 rig and down the road I went. They know I do my own work and after 3 or 4 minor problems, they sent me the item's to replace and one time Fleetwood reembursed me for replacing a faucet in a Home Depot parking lot in Venice, FL. I've had no problems since.

Hi,

Hey, thanks for the input. I am getting "USED" to the 34 foot but it has 1/2 the amount of storage but my husband is in 7th heaven with all of the outside storage. He said he would share. ha ha.

Now, for the other situation...the AC went out and the water tank lost all water. We have an appointment in the morning. I guess what it is I really, really loved the floor plan of the other rig but it had many, many troubles. I just wanted this one to be "less" trouble but I will adapt.

Again, thanks for taking the time to reply.

In May 2007 we traded our 1999 40 ft Beaver Patriot one-slide for a new 2007 Fleetwood Excursion 39S while at Lowes Motor Speedway for the races. It's pretty common that folks do that in the middle of a racing trip at least it is at LMS. You see people switching coaches, trailers, fifth wheels. The tell tale sign is usually that there is a carpet and a pile of belongings, and no rig .. and while later a new rig appears!

We parked the Patriot and the Excursion door to door and emptied from the back of the Patriot into the Excursion. It was pure pandemonium because the storage is totally different and I did lose interior space, tho I am learning to live with it.

While we had thoughts of trading up, it wasn't exactly on the radar when we did it, but we found the coach we liked and a deal that was too good to pass up.

Happy traveling!

I didn't do it on a vacation, but one time I took the motorhome in for an oil change and came home with a new motorhome..... I had to do what you did, transfer everything on the spot.
