Hello, I work for a water utility company which was interested in purchasing an RV, gutting the inside, building a water treatment facility inside of it and then traveling the country in order to use it as a teaching tool and schools and so forth. My task at the moment is to price out this project. If ANYONE has ANY recommendations on where to start please please please share your knowledge. My frist step would be to obtain and gut an RV. Recommendations?=)

To start with, it depends on your size, Class A or Class C and your funds. It will be expensive and time consuming. A TT construction trailer may be easier to convert.

Your concept sounds interesting. My two cents... if I was going to design a mobile lab/classroom things I would consider:
How many in audience would be using this facility?
What is the weight of the equipment that you would install?
What travel distance are you looking at?
Mobile labs that I am familiar with are generally set up on trailers. Have seen a few nice ones.

In my view, I'd be looking at a different Trailer. Why would you want spend the money on items inside the RV... only to remove them... so you can install your special use items.
There are many box style trailers that might do far better than a RV. Be it a tow behind or a fifth wheel style... there are many types to consider. The fact that there would be no widows that may or may not be in the proper location for what you have in mind. Holding tanks are easy to build into any type of trailer.
Trailers come in many different shapes and styles. Some have 2 entry doors... some have rear doors that may swing open like semi box doors... others have ramp doors with a garage for storage...
A rear ramp could work as a stage floor with only a few minor additional supports... That stage could serve as a platform to offer the initial presentation before entering the RV from a side door to demonstrate the finer levels of your program.
Just a few of my thoughts... Wish you Luck!!!
