Beautiful views of surrounding mountains and valleys.
It snowed the night before we went, it was cold and very windy. We didn't put the awning up or build a fire the first night.

Campground has 2 main loops, most of the sites are pull through and level. Both loops have a bathhouse, except they are completely renovating the upper bathhouse so it was closed. The lower bathhouse was very well maintained, I was suprised it stayed so clean even though it was the only one open. It only has 1 shower, so hopefully they will add more showers in the upper bathhouse.

Make sure you take everything you need unless you don't mind driving. You are out in the middle of nowhere. We went up I-81, after you got off I-81 you drive about 30 miles and then turn on highway 58. There's a couple of small stores on 58 but it's about a 15-20 min. drive.

Hike to the top of Massie Gap and see the wild ponies. (Even though they're not real wild, they'll come up to you and try to find treats in your pockets) They kept following me trying to bite my backpack and pull my binoculars out of my pocket. But they are friendly and pretty. Make sure you take warm clothing, it was warm at the parking lot, but by the time you get to the top it's quite a bit cooler.

There is a country store which has some gift items and a few camp items at the entrance to the campground, it's very small and they were just opening up for the season so they may have more stuff later.

On up the mountain is a visitor center that has gifts as well. Also find the overlooks on the right hand side before you get to the visitor center and check out the view, amazing.

Great hiking trails, bike trails, horse trails, a playground, and that's about all there is up there. (you're about 4700 ft up.)

We'd go back again.
