:D Please be very careful when making your insurance choice! I have had a very bad time with this company price seems good until you have a small claim and then you are hit with a large increase. I was traveling on a road and rocks fell off a hill and were rolling in the road and i struck one it should have been under comp claim they charged me under collision. tried to fight it but found the company dug in thier heals ! going back to National Interstate much better in my humble opion. I hope this is in the correct forum Please note that as of 10/30/08 Progressive has stepped up to the plate andreviewed the claim when i tried to cancell the policey and the found in my favor! Fortunately our persistance and our agent at the vista group was well worth the effort having a good agent is inportant and ours is great .

Ive tried to tell people this for years but no one listens. Even a sales rep from Progressive made contact with me and told me he could beat everyones prices. When I told him what I pay and what coverage I get he said they cant touch that with a ten foot pole. And I am with allstate of all insurance companies.

I'm suprised to hear this, I've had nothing but good luck with progressive and I couldn't beat their price. I had 2 blown tires in one day and both time ERS was quick and no problems.

Since we are full timing... and no longer own a home... we needed Full Time RV insurance. Not having a home owners policy we did not have liability insurance any longer. That said we wanted to be fully protected... which is why Full Timers need to be sure to have a policy that protects them totally.

We selected RV America Insurance Company for our RV insurance and our Full Time policy.

Here is their Link for additional information:

Although I have not filed a claim with them yet.. I feel I get a far better value for my coverage than I did when I added the RV to my Vehicle policy. I still insure the truck with State Farm... but for less money I am fully protected with a far superior policy by selecting RV America Insurance for our Fifth Wheel.

We had the same problem. We had a minor accident that costs less than $1,100 to fix, and unfortunately we should have just had it fixed without reporting it to Progressive. They doubled the price of our insurance, so we immediately went out and got a new insurance company. When I called to cancel Progressive, they kept the remainder of our payment because they "didn't expect us to cancel." Amazing.

We selected RV America Insurance Company for our RV insurance and our Full Time policy.
Just to be clear here: RV America is NOT an insurance "company." Rather, they are an insurance "broker" that works with many different insurance companies. So, you are not insured *BY* RV America, but by whatever insurance company they placed you with.

Here is a direct quote from RV America's website:

"After obtaining a few pieces of information from you, we'll research many top-rated RV insurance carriers and find you the best combination of coverage and price."

Has anyone checked with Geico? Many give 6 months quotes instead of 12 months.

I used to have Geico until I got in an accident and they increased my insurance rates pushing me out of the market for using them for insurance.
I am going to National Insurance thru Flying J Insurance in March when my Allstate runs out. I found they have a little more to offer when they offer full replacement cost that I paid for my rig.

We have Geico for all other insurance needs.
Before we got the MH, we called them and inquired what the cost would be to add it. They said, just for the MH, it would be double what we re paying for the other vehicles
Went with Progressive for now but will shop when renewal time comes around.

I have had good luck with Progressive Direct. They fixed my truck after sustaining $7000 hail damage and never raised my premium.:D

I went to the Quartzsite RV and Vacation show this week and they have an RV insurance booth there that they run thru all the major rv insurance companies to see which would be best for the buck. They include, Geico, Progressive, Foremost, Gmac, National Interstate thru them (AON) insurance, and several others. Anyway they came back that the two best companies for me to get insurance from were GMAC and National Interstate thru AON. We are changing in Mar and will take one or the other have not made a decision yet.

Lee, we had GMAC through Good Sam VIP previous to Progressive Direct and they were OK. Progressive beat their price at the time of renewnal. Also, I could never get hold of them to speak to Customer Service. They would put me on hold for an hour at a time. Being able to contact Progressive on-line fast during business hrs or in about 2 minutes on the phone is one thing I really like about Progressive Direct.

Last year when I got a progressive quote they were 800 dollars more a year than any of the other six I had checked. And when Aon checked they again came back almost the highest. Formost was the only one higher price wise.

You may want to look into Destination Services 877-553-3400, it appears they can provide insurance geared to RV's as well as mail & financing services

I have been with Progressive for about 7 years. I just got quotes from GMAC and they were less expensive but the coverage is not the same.

Need to look at apples to apples to make sure you are getting good motorhome coverage and not just vehicle coverage.

I have two cars and my motorhome with Porgressive and will stay with them on renewal.

Enjoy!!

I switched from GMAC to GEICO last year due to lower rates. Being full time I feel ins. is very impt. After changing I went on my way secure in the thought that I was insured. 3 weeks later when My mail caught up I had a letter from GEICO informing me that they cancelled my ins. because they could not varify a perment address . I had traveled 1100 miles without Ins and without knowing it. I will neveruse GEICO again! And if I run across that little Geco(sp) I'm going to stomp him.:D

There are few companies that cover full time rvers National Interstate is one of the best and they are one that one has to use an agent for like RV Insurance or FLying J Insurance and so on. Gmac is a very close second to them. I dont remember the third one on the list but Progressive runs forth in price and coverage and than you have all other insurance companies. If you dont full time Allstates new RV Insurance is top of the line with most others following from there. Please read the fine print on your policys to make sure you are getting what you think you are getting.
