Ameri camp gone-Roadtrek going?

Ameri-camp has ceased operations and Roadtrek has laid off all but 20 workers-saying that the few left are finishing up vehicles in production.

For this Company to layoff 180 people is astounding to me, could the industry be on the brink of imploding?

The over all RV industry is down 80 %.

So many old company names are now closed... most have or are in the process of selling off their equipment.

The Question was posted on Heartland Owners Site... asking about the company's financial health.

They report that they by far are not building the numbers of units they HAD projected to build this year... but they have taken measures to survive this down turn in the market. They have laid off production workers... they have restructured some of the staff... but they are well based with financial backing... I wish them the best with such difficult times in front of them. They say they will survive this and come out in a very good position at the end.

I hope things do turn around... Many folks who had plans to retire... are looking Hard at that decision now... many who had a modest savings plan with their company... like the bank employees... have seen the value of their savings plan... hit rock bottom as the value of the bank stock hits all time lows... most of those employee's had no option but to invest... with matching funds from the bank in the bank stock...

We need a magical turn around in the economy !!
