We ve got a Sharp Microwave/convection combo in our MH.
Only problem with it is it will not cook or heat anything longer than 1 minute.
Have checked the owners manual and done as it said.
DW is about to pull it out of the wall.
Anyone got any ideas as to why its doing this?
Thanks.

Ours works great, I'm thinking that your not pushing the correct buttons. Got the manual?

Read and reread the manual.
For instance, when we push the minute plus for say 3 min, it still shuts off after one minute.

Do you have a sensor reheat? Try that and see what happens. Just put the item in the oven and hit the button it should do the rest. If it still shuts down after a minute you got a problem with the oven. Call sharp and they should be able to walk you thru the test sequence to check your oven out for a settings problem.

How about giving us a few examples of what you were trying to cook and how.
Were you microwaving it? Using the convection over? Broiling? I've had a Sharp for 12 years so maybe with that info we can offer some suggestions. Diana

The other night, DW was trying to micro dinner that required timing of ten minutes.
Set the microwave timer for 10 min and it shut off after 1 min.
Also tried the minute plus and the same thing happened.
Got to be a little frustrating.
Thanks for the help with this.

Donnie,
I would strongly consider buying a new microwave. I had a similar situation with one and sent it to an authorized dealer for repair. After it was checked out I was told it was a bad control panel. After they quoted me a price to repair it I decided to buy a new one for less money. For a few dollars more I bought an extended warranty with it. Is it really worth the frustration? I think not! Be happy my friend after all, if moma's not happy no body's happy. ;)

Should it be necessary to replace the micro, is it a reg off the shelf, get it at Walmart type or is a special rv type?
Thanks.

That's exactly what I did with a previous motor home. Micro wave went to lunch, so made measurements for size, went to wally-world and just bought one off the shelf that would fit. Was still in the coach working when I updated to my present unit.

We had the same problem, The new control panel didn't solve the problem. Local Sharp repair shop never could fix it! Long frustration story. Finally had to replace the unit (Thanks to Safari who worked out a deal with Sharp for a no cost replacement). (Mfg warranty is longer that consumers) My big gripe was that the Sharp repair agency refused to work on the unit while it was in the Motor Home. After phone instructions from the great crew at Safari Tech Suppot I got it our of the Motor Home and took it to the Sharp place only to give up after three weeks and no results, They finally got mad and told me to come get my unit and find another place to have it repaired.
Another mistake is that I ordered a replacement control panel on the internet, installed it and still had one minute cooking!! I suspect that the problem is in the sensor unit not the control panel and nobody knows how to fix this. Get a new one, good luck, Sharp customer service is terriable!!

holden,
Thanks for the info on Sharp customer service.
I think we re going to go shopping for a new one.
The unit is in a MH that is 4yrs old anyway so I dont think there is any warrenty on it anyway.
Id rather get one that has a warrenty in case something goes south on it.
