I'm wondering before I buy a 20foot trailer to pull behind
my 34 Damon MH what kind of problems parking in camp grounds
privite, state parks, national parks and such? I'm also wanting
to know about parking it at Cracker Barrel,Waffle House,IHOP,
and other fast food places?

I'm in general wondering about any problems traveling with
59 feet total rig I might be over looking?

I'm also wondering if I took 4 foot off the trailer cutting
total lenth down to 55 feet would help any??

This forum has been alot of help to my wife and I and I'm
hoping you guys/gals can help again.

Thanks
Chuck & Marcia

Yes, you'll have problems in some campgrounds, especially the older NP campgrounds that were set up long before larger RVs were available or popular. That doesn't mean you won't be able to get into ANY of them, but you won't be able to get into ALL of them.

As for parking at fast food places, the only one of the ones you mentioned that we've stopped at while towing are the Cracker Barrels. No Cracker Barrel that *we've* been to has a space long enough for a 59' rig. We tow a 32' fifth wheel, and are *maybe* 50' total length, and we totally fill up an RV parking space at all the Cracker Barrels we've been to.

We HAVE stopped at some McDonalds & Arby's that have bus and RV parking associated with them (not all do)...ususally just a big dirt lot. Those probably wouldn't be a problem for you. We've also gone to the fast food places and restaurants at truck stops where parking is usually not a problem.

I have a thirty seven foot rv with a tow dolly and a suv, length is around 55 to 60 foot and have yet to find a problem in campgrounds and rv parks. Have not found a store lot that had a space long enough but I try to park as far from the building and normal traffic as possible because of it.

Remember that a tow dolly is far smaller and often the tongue can slide under the Motor Home and the dolly can stay on the RV site. A 20 foot trailer is not as easy to park on many RV Sites.

We travel in a 36 foot Class A and tow a Chevy Trailblazer. It is not uncommon for us to "hang over" in a designated RV or semi truck parking spot in an Interstate rest stop. Getting gas is another "adventure" when we tow. All too many stations run their pumps at a 90 degree angle to the storefront--making it nearly impossible to get gas in a long rig. Restaurants--forget it. The fastest food--and safest--if right in our kitchen on wheels!
