I have been informed by my insurance company that the insurance that I have on the motorhome will not cover me when I am at a campground plugged in and useing it as a residence, for any liability if someone should injure themselves.(fall etc.) I was told that I should carry another policy such as, motorhome owners insurance. Has anyone else found this to be true. The vehicle is registered in Mass Thanks for any info you can give me.

Using it as a residence, sounds like fulltimers to them and that may make a difference with them.

In fact that can be true. Its better if you have a fulltimers insurance which does cover anyone getting hurt in your camp. Contact any company on this list and you should be alright. http://www.nationalinterstate.com/products/spl/rv/default.asp
And you might even find some cheaper insurance costs to boot.

Are you a fulltimer? Most insurace companies consider living in your RV 5 months or more a year as fulltiming.
If so, then, yes, you need fulltimers insurance which gives you the same type of liability insurance that homeowners insurance on a sticks and bricks gives you.
Not all insurance companies offer fulltimers insurance. I'd suggest calling several insurance agencies that specialize in RV insurance for quotes...places like Miller's RV Insurance, Gilbert RV Insurance, etc. Progressive and Foremost are insurance companies that you can contact directly.
