Hi,
I'm planning a little vacation to the Keys, the first week in april. Does anyone have advice on where to go and what to see. And where to set up my RV.
Thank You

Everyone should see the Sun Set Celebration. A ride on The Conch Train Is fun, as is the Fisher Museum on sunken treasure . The glass bottom boat ride is worth your time at Pennikamp State Park. We like to go out on a reef trip to skin dive. Have never done it but swimming with the porpoises would be great fun.

We have stayed at the State Campgrounds in the Keys for several years and love them! Less expensive than the private ones. At Long Key you are right on the ocean. The sate campgrounds are very hard to get into. Check out Reserve America. Take plenty of groceries as they are very expensie in the Keys. There are no Wal Marts after you leave Homestead Florida on the mainland. There are 2 small K-Marts and a Publix Grocery Store farther into the Keys.

If you are coming from up north AVOID Lees Rv Travel Park in Largo. They do not deliver on promises and the place is a dump.. $600.00 we prepaid for a month. Guarnteed wifi and there was none. The sites are a mess. We asked to have the leaves raked up around the site before we moved in and we were told that was our responsibillity. The first sight we prepaid would not accommodate our fifth wheel. They put us in another site that had a cement pad on such a slope you could not put your table out there. The place was a joke. I asked for a partial refund on the electric bill to make up for no wifi and got a manager that went nuts. This place is a no no.

FYI....The State Parks allow dogs now and are the cheapest. Fishermen's Lodge in Big Pine Key is right after Bahia Honda State Park they are reasonable. Sunshine Key in Big Pine Key MM39 is good. The parks are not cheap. If you are tenting do what some people do and park before a bridge and pitch your tent. Blue Water RV Park is nice but some people have told me that they have their noses in the air. Boyds Campground is the closest you will get to Key West the sites are not that big but they are not as close together as Sugarloaf. Sugarloaf is the next closest park (about 20 miles from KW) but they are back to back and awning to awning sites (really close). Caloosa Cove in Key Largo is nice. These are the only RV parks I know about.
