Is there anywhere one can go to find workamper job experiences either good or not so good. There was a site like this but when the new mgmt. took over this site they changed the format so that you can only report positive encounters. It would be helpful to know both sides?

No truer words were ever said. With the new team they worry a lot about the employers and very little about the employee's.
They are trying to be so political in their judgment that it almost stinks.
Also on their forums they do a lot of censorship that it is terrible.
We will say that they do a fairly good job of putting the employer and employee together.
That said the rest is a censored site leaning very heavily to the employer.

If any one wants to make a post concerning a workamping position, Negative or Positive, this is the place to speak up and post it.

If a employer wants to post a rebuttal here concerning your comments, they are welcome to do so.

Please keep all comments/post honest.

Just for the record I am aware of the site that you are mentioning, and I have to fully agree they are baised toward the employer; employer's are there source of income.

Being a newbie to this forum and to Workamping in general, I am going to report in on our 1st Workamping Volunteer position. We applied on line at the Corps of Engineers when we first heard about the Workcamping idea from other full time rvers we met during the winter. When we got our first call, we were asked to commit for 6 months (for the season...) But after discussing it, my husband felt we should try it first for 3 months!! We called and there was no problem in the change. We arrived in North Carolina at the W. Kerr Scott Reservoir & Dam and were very warmly welcomed by all the staff. The Rangers and office pesonnel are Very very appreciative of their volunteers and make them feel right at home. We were furnished with a Full hookup campsite that had brand new picnic tables, fire rings and bbq's, along with a gate that provided some privacy for the Volunteer loop. We were asked to work 20 hrs each a week but we asked to work 4 days on at 4 hrs per day. I worked in the Visitor Assistance Center in the reception area and my husband worked with either the ranger, another volunteer or alone doing various outdoor maintenance projects that were not very strenuous. The rangers were all considerate of his age and abilities. We were asked to let them know things to improve the Volunteer experience.. and they have already followed up one having an WiFi internet service available in the Volunteer Loop. They are working on a launderette for later on. We will be leaving in a few days and we are being taken out for a Farewell/Thank you lunch with the staff (as are all the Volunteers).. We could not ask for a better COE Park or nicer folks to help up begin our journey. I know we will return to this park.
