Getting awfully quiet in here lately. We are just waiting until next weekend to have a yard sale and if its any good and we make enough for gas down and our first months space rent than we will head south, otherwise we will remain in Ut for the winter.

I saw your poll, there wasn't a box "other", I'm around. :) Being retired, we been camping most weekends within an hours drive and we made 4 or 5 trips within 4 hour drives. Closing up the pool today, except for August, it didn't get used to much. Big school tax bill came Friday so I may have to stay home for the next 3 months. I guess it goes with the territory.

I live a little bit back in the woods. On any given weekend when I try to get out on the main road, there are yard sales in both directions for 1 mile each way. The traffic is a bear and nobody will let you out. Yard sales seem to be big around here but go out monday morning and their junk is sitting out by the road with "free" signs stuck on them. :) :)

Hey yard sale people here's a couple tips I found helpful. The people that do flea markets, antique shops and commercial yard sales go shopping on wensday and thursday for stock and deals. They can't shop on the weekends cause their sales are open. Also the nfirst of the the month is when the goverment send out social security and welfare checks and these people frequent these sales out of neccesity and their checks are usually gone by the third or fourth day after they get them. A majoity of these people do not use budgets. Also our local paper here has gone to three days of circulation so if you are having a sale on wensday or thursday you must advertise the week before. Also we have several internet ad sites for our area and they are free to post ads for sales, These are expecially helpful if you have high priced or hard to sell items we have drawn people to our sale from across the state for a couple specialty items we had for sale.:D

There has been a change in those Soc Sec checks, most come on the 3rd but they also have checks that now come out at different times of the month based on a person birth date see this:
Birth date on Benefits paid on
1st - 10th Second Wednesday
11th - 20th Third Wednesday
21st - 31st Fourth Wednesday
Also here where I live the paper only comes out on Tuesdays and Thursdays so weekday yard sales are never as good as the weekends.

Good grief I have been on Soc Sec disability since 96 and it started not long after I got my disabilty. So there is over ten years.

Seems to me that around 2000 to 2002, the government changed the rules for mailing out the SS checks. The government excuse for this? To save money which I never understood. By the end of a month they'd have spent the same total amount of money that would have been spent if all was given out at the first of the month. You all know how our government autocrats think.

The best way to winterize your coach is to head south.
