Has anyone been on interstae 40 recently and if so what is the condition. The last time I was on it it was very rough.

I travel I-40 every few months from Mich. to Lenoir City, TN and it's not been too bad lately. Most of the construction is done and traffic, though heavy, goes by quickly (try to avoid rush hour).

I just came back from the Tenn area. I was on I-40 from east of Knoxville to the Gatlinburg exits. The traffic moved well. There is some construction both east and west bound in the center of Knoxville and would cause some delays at rush hours. We made it through pretty well at 3:30 PM on a wednesday. I couldnt tell you how I 40 is west of the I-75 split.

It would help if you said what part of I 40 you want info on.
I 40 is almost 2600 miles long.

I travel on 40 frequently between Knoxville and Nashville. In the last week I have only found one construction site and I was still moving fairly well. There wasn't any back up.

Not too bad now, was just down there recently, nothing major. Avoid rush hour though, that's still terrible.
