Hi, I'm new to myrvparks.com, so any suggestions will be appreciated. I joined because I have a question that I need help on asap. My situation:
I have had an old analog TV with the VCR installed in it that I have been using in my trailer. My trailer was manufactured in 2008 by TrailCruiser. I've never been able to use the antenna to receive anything. I have a converter box. I hooked everything up like you are supposed to, and no channels.
BUT, when I am in a park with cable TV, everything is wonderful!
I finally got tired of this stuff and bought me a digital TV. Yes, I did the full deal, after all I am TV technically naive, and bought the TV, and the mounting device, the service to have someone come and install it in my trailer, and the Geek service for x years. Someone is coming tomorrow to install it for me.
1 - Before I bought the TV and at a different store, a salesman told me the antenna is inside the TV and I don't need one. Can anyone confirm that?
2 - I've seen the antennas to use inside and asked the same guy about them and he said I would not need one. Can anyone confirm that?
3 - When I got the TV home, I hooked it up to the antenna, no reception. I have scanned a several times with no success. Is it my antenna, you know the crank one on the roof?
4 - Somewhere I saw a statement that RV's built after 2006 would be okay with digital TV. Mine isn't. What did they change in 2007?
5 - The reason I am posting this now is that every posting I have seen concerning this topic was written before the change over and talked about what people would have to do then. Well it is now then, and I need help.
I sure hope someone cal help me. The installer is supposed to be here between 8 and 12 tomorrow and I would like to sound smart when he comes!!!! thanks in advance. Jan
