We just bought a Damon and it has a King Dome Satellite system. We are not sure how to use it. It says it is set up for Direct TV, which we dont have at home. Please help us understand how to use it and what we need to do. Thank you

You'll need a receiver and a Direct TV service contract as you would at home.

You didn't provide much info on your particular model King Dome Sat dish.
My best advice, go to King Dome web page and follow the links to your particular model, http://www.kingcontrols.com/king_dome/

If you want to remain with DirecTV, then as a previous poster said, you will need a receiver and a DirecTV account.
If you want to go with Dish Network, the King Dome can be reprogrammed for that service. And, just like with DirecTV, you will need a receiver and an account.
Be aware that domes have some limitations:
1) If you subscribe to DirecTV, you will only be able to subcribe to SD programming since you will not be able to receive HD programming with a dome.
2) If you subscribe to Dish Network, you will be able to subscribe to their HD programming if you want; however, since a dome will only *see* one satellite at a time, if you have two TVs and one person wants to watch a program on satellite "A" and the other person wants to watch a program on satellite "B," you'll have to flip a coin to see which of you will be watching their program...the other person will be SOL.
