This question may get me labeled Queen of 'Toopid' but so what? The cr@ppy floor vents (two out of 3) have broken. I've tried all the screw drivers in toolbox and none work. Why in the heck don't they use regular screws for floor vents?
I notice the lights on the front of my Cougar 310SRX 5th wheel have that same square shape on the so-called screws, just larger. I need to remove the covers to get at some mold that 'grew' during the rainy season.
Your patience and info is appreciated.

Go to Lowes to the hardware department. Look through the screws they have there. When you find one that looks like thw ones in the vent, take it to the tool department and get a screw tip that fits it. The square head is not that uncommon.

The screws (square inset) are called "Robertson" they are Canadian screws, developed by a Canadian company.
You might as well pickup a set of 4 (4 standard sizes) because you will find that working on your RV at some point in time you will need all 4 different sizes.

NOW to really make things confusing, they also make "tamper proof" Robertson screws. These screws have a tiny pin in the center of the square opening, for those you need a set of screw drivers that have a tiny hole in the center. (Just thought I would toss that in so you would be prepared for the day that you run into them.)

The Robertson screw drivers are available at most tool/hardware stores, the tamper proof ones are a little harder to find due to lack of demand.
