Reupholster chair

Was wondering if anybody ever reupholstered their steel-flex chair. I know how to reupholster, but when I turned the chair upside down it was totally foreign to me. Anybody have any ideas - please.

We had our Flex steel chairs done at a upholstery shop, not sure how they removed the old fabric. The finished job was outstanding though.
