Its neat and clean just twenty miles out of D.C. and the closest campground to the metropolitian area. You should however and try to avoid rush hour which last from about 2:30 til 7:00. We just came back from there.

We just finished our first stay at Cradle Lake Campground in Rome, PA. We were there for the Bluegrass Festival and had a great time. The staff (a great bunch of people) were very friendly, helpfull and accomodating. We found there is a store, recreation room, mini golf course, paddle boats, and more in the campgounds. We will be going back again for the festival next year. But if you have children, it's a wonderful place to visit. Just thought I'd pass it along......:)

Our favorite is Mt. Lakes Resort in Guntersville, AL...it is a private resort and we love it when we want to stay close to home.
We have been on the road for 2 weeks now and have stayed in some great parks:

Shady Oaks in Harrison, AR (Passport America)
Lakeview in Branson, MO
Gunsmoke RV Park in Dodge City, KS
Amarillo RV Ranch in Amarillo, TX (Passport America):
