I own a Jayco Grandite Ridge motorhome with lower storage compartments. Find compartments full of water when we travel in the rain. After further inspection, found seal around compartment was good. Seems when you close the door, the seal mates at the top and down halfway on the sides, but doesn't mate with the bottom. Only door adjustment is the latch and that doesn't help. Any suggestions????

you may want to contact jayco if unit is still under warrenty even if not. they may have heard of this problem before. If they don't help you could try purchasing some rubber gimp at an automotive store and install it over the existing gimp cord or gasket. Usually this comes with adhesive already on it.

Are the compartments large enough for someone to get in there with a flashlight? If so, have someone go in with a flashlight, while someone else takes a hose and starting at the roof or above the compartment doors and go along over the entire side the length of the rig with the water trickling and see if you can find where the leaking area is. If you can't get into the compartment, try putting paper towels along the compartments and again use the hose and try dribbling the water along the side to try to find where the water is leaking in. Water leaks are hard to pinpoint. On our motorhome, the sides were riveted with poprivets which the water ran into the rivets and into the inside and traveled the length of the motorhome along the sub floor. Ours is a Safari motorhome. It could also be an internal water line, depending on where the lines run in any particular motorhome/trailer.
