My wife and I just got back from a week long trip in out fifth wheel. It was our longest trip so far since owning the camper. We stopped for three days in Red Top Mountain State Park just north of Atlanta. It is a great place but be warned, if you have a RV that is very long, you need to book a pull through site, which they have 12. We then went to Claboughs Campground in Pigeon Forge and stayed four nights. We got there and had a pull through booked. When we went to set up, trees blocked the use of our awning. We called the office and was able to move to a back in site that worked fine. The office told us that most of the campground was booked so we had just a handfull of sites to pick. We got site 48 in the D section and it worked fine. I dont know where all the campers were that had booked the other sites because there were only about 10 to 15 campers in the back of the campground where we were. Over all, Claboughs is a good value for the price. It is on Wears Valley Rd and off the main traffic. It is centrally located and easy in and out to get to your destinations. I would stay at this campground again. It can be a little tight for some campers but all sized rv's would be able to use this campground. Thanks to Stacyb for the recommendation on this campground. Oh yeah, the bathhouses I was in were clean and working with the exception of one shower being repaired in one of them. The laundry worked fine too. Our trip was a great one other than almost freezing to death on friday and saturday when the cold front came through. It was different to see snow flurries in April in the south.
