I would suggest that you go to all the different RV shows then to all the different dealers that you find and LOOK at what is available. Once you have an idea of what is on the market then you can start narrowing down your list of the different units that you like. At this point hopefully, you might be able to find a used unit that fits your needs. I suggest a used unit for a couple of reasons. First the original buyer has already suffered through the depreciation loss on the unit an you get a better deal price wise. Secondly very few people keep the first unit they buy more than a couple of years, reason, after they have had it for a period of time and really get a chance to develop their own style of use they find that what they bought really isn't the rig they need.

There are a few thinks that you should consider in selecting an RV. One is how much will you travel versus stay in one place. Will you need a means of local transportation (taking a larger motorhome everywhere gets tiresome) ? If so you will either need to tow something behind a motorhome or travel in a tow vehicle and trailer/5th wheel. Another part of this consideration is how many power trains do you want to maintain and insure. I own a Class C motorhome, but would choose a trailer or 5th wheel if I were going to stay in one place for weeks to months at a time as I do not believe it is good to let any motorized vehicle sit for long periods of time without running.
Where you plan to visit/stay can also be important in selecting an RV. Many National Park and Forest Service campgrounds can not accommodate rigs much larger than 30'.
Last, if you have never owned or camped in an RV, I suggest renting one for a weekend to get a feel for want you might want in a unit.
