We stay at Upriver in N. Ft.Myers. What do YOU look for in a camp ground for you to consider it to be the Best? Every one seems to have differant ideas of the best.

Thanks, we are looking to spend part of this winter [ Jan,Feb] In that area, we are relativly new R/Vers and look for reasonable monthly price, quiet and Safe. We are Good Sam members but have heard that is not a factor in Monthly rentals ?? We have no pets and are both over 60, but active in in golf and fishing. Thanks

check florida state parks, several in the area, 2 week limit, if you don't mind moving. the resort type parks are nice, but very expensive and they squeeze you in like sardines.

I would doubt that you can put together a long term stay using State Parks that time of the year.
Once again I must ask you to be more explicit. What is a reasonable Monthly rate to you? The more explicit you are the better the answers. We pay close to $900 a month for what they call a premium site , 100ft. long and concrete drive.

Hello, I just returned from Naples. I stayed at Imperial Wilderness which is now mostly park models, but does still have some lots for rent. It's a very nice park and the rents vary a bit according to how much the owner wants to charge. THere are no park owned lots. The people there are great with lots of activities to join if you wish. It's on highway 41 about two miles south of the highway 951 intersection. It's more of a resort type place than campground, but not too fancy like some over there are. If you want more information on this one let me know. Judith

Hello and thank you for the information. I was unable to find a website so a telephone # would help. I did call Upriver at the suggestion of another helpfull member but found that $900.00 plus electric was a bit pricey.
We have gone to Arizona [ Gold Canyon ]and liked it very much with the monthly cost about 600.00 for everything, however we did the math fro NC to both locations and thought that Florida would be about a third of the fuel.

At this point, I'm not so sure it wouldn't be a wash financially, except for the travel time. Thanks again everyone.
