What products can I use to clean my RV? Especially the roof and sides - and those black streaks. Somebody said Simple Green works good. What about protecting vinyl and tires?

Awsome works on the black streaks, but it will take off any wax you may have put on. For the roof all I have used so far is laundry soap. That is what the RV manuf. recommends & it does seems to do well. On spots on the roof, the manuf. recommended Comet or Ajax and scrub lightly with a nylon brush. That seems to work well also. Good luck

be careful with awesome don't use on the roof. I used it on new refridgerator to remove stickers and it started melting the plastic. Luckily I only used it on a small area. I use spic and span for the roof it works well and is recommended by the manufacturer. On the sides I use a black streak remover I purchased from the dealer it works well and is not that expensive. Then I wax it with the turtle wax you spray on in the bottle. Have found with the 31' tt it is much easier than paste wax and lasts for the whole season. I also purchased scotch gaurd from a local store and sprayed fabric on the furniture inside the tt. This helps to keep spills from staining fabrics.

I use and recommend Vroom, it is RV friendly, works extremely well, and won' take off wax. Works great on top, sides, and black streaks. Just remember to wash roof first, then sides, working from top to bottom. I also use a squeege to help dry off the RV. Its a big job but well worth it. Good Luck.

If your roof is made of EPDM (rubber) use Spic and Span.
If your roof is made of TPO (Britetex) use Murphy's Oil Soap.
If it's fiberglass or aluminum, use an automobile was and wax.
To clean and wax at the same time, I use Protect All. I spray it on the surface and wipe it off with a terry cloth rag till it gets so dirty, I can't buff with it anymore. It removes the dirt and oxidation at the same time it leaves a smooth wax finish. One step and I'm done. If I wash it first, I'm too tired to wax it afterward.
I've got a garage full of cans of wax of all types. Nothing beats Protect All. It's the only one I'm buying from now on.
It makes cleaning the bugs off the front end easy at the end of the day. I set up my ladder and starting at the top, I clean the fiberglass, the rubber weatherstripping around the windshield and glass with it. The name says it all - Protect All. It works great on any surface.

Awesome is Awesome!! I use it on my front window curtain..I spray it on directly and let it set for a minute and then hose it down with water and it comes out white as snow.
You have to dilute it when using it on certain surfaces...like the windows wow does it get them really clean. Carpet on your ceiling spray on direct and wipe off with a clean towel you won't believe how clean. It works great on those spots you get on your clothes, rugs, etc. I love it and it doesn't have a stong smell.

I have been using Protectall, and only Protectall, for many years. I got rid of everything else a long time ago.
I use it on the sides and roof of both our motorhome and Park Model trailer and on our cars. I also use it on our boat for all surfaces including the seats-it is ten years old and looks brand new. They are done in no time. I use it on glass and inside on the wood and window frames.
Something I found out a while back, by accident, is if you dry your vehicle with a terry towel you can spray the towel when you are done and it is still damp with Protectall. The towel will dry hard as a rock. The next time you wash your vehicle use the towel to dry it. As you dry the Protectall gets activated and you will have a great shine when you are done.
Enjoy!!

I also recommend Simple Green. I mix a solution in water in a spray bottle (using the concentration recommended on the product label for auto washing), spray the RV sides/roof, and sponge-wipe the surface. I keep rinsing the sponge in a water bucket and do sections at a time. To reduce spotting, I shammy off the cleaned area.
This works well in campgrounds when hose-washing your RV is not allowed (most campgrounds).
