 I have a 2000 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 Extended cab....When pulling my camper I have hard shifts when cresting hills and when I take off from traffic lights. It shakes the truck.....But when driving solo it works just fine. The dealers and transmission shops I have had it to cannot find the culprit that is causing this problem....It has progressivly gotten worse over the past 3-4 years. I like this truck but am afraid to venture out with the camper in tow because I don't know if it is going to break. My wife does not want to go in debt for a new truck and I don't want to pour a lot of money into transmission repairs and still not have a good transmission.....I am open for any suggestion as to what to do.....

I have a 2005 motorhome with 8.1L engine...it does the same thing if I drive a long distance in overdrive at 55 mph. It is still under warranty and my dealer/mechanic said it sounds like the torque convertor. At this speed the convertor has just locked up. If I drive it 60mph or faster it'd fine.

Try a product called Trans - X made by K&W. It's the best thing going besides a overhaul. You may have a little varnish in the valve body thats messing with the little ball valves in there. Also if you have some "O" rings that are shrinking it will restore them to good health. It comes in two styles, the old oil can (1 quart) or in a brake fluid type can (concentrate) I prefer the brake fluid can.
I would change the fluid and filter and put in the Trans -X.
Do not substitute, only use this product in your transmission. It also works for power steering and any other hydraulic systems, stops seal leaks as well.
