Can anyone recommend a nice, clean, family-friendly place near Tampa?
We will be visiting the area in Sept. '07 and would like to spend a few days visiting the area.
We are 40+ feet so large sites are always a consideration, we travel with children and a dog too.
Thanks in advance for any recommendations.

Are you looking for an RV park with all the amenities, or are you looking for a campground something like a KOA or are you looking for a State Park type campground????? I live in Tampa and have "Camped" in just about all the local parks. If you want a nice park that is close to Busch Gardens and is right Next to Camping World and Lazy Days RV's then I would recommend Rally Park. There are also 4-5 Large RV dealers close by......

I also forgot to mention that you are also close to Dinasoar World. If your kids are into that kind of thing....There are also lots of Rails to Trails bike trails and some rough bike trails...

Thanks Bob. I haven't been on for a while, sorry. We are going to be doing some touristy stuff in the area and close to Bush Gardens is a plus. Inexpensive is a plus too.
Amenities are nice, but not necessary as we probably will not be spending too much time at the RV park.
I will check out the park you mentioned.

I agree Rally Park is a sure bet. Not expensive, I think around $25.00. They have a real nice pool, plenty of space for a 40 footer and you can go next door for breakfast and lunch. Now, it's not a huge 7 course meal, but you have to remember it's free! Easy access to the major roadways also.

outside of Tampa, there's a nice campground called Camp Lemora RV. It's off 301 North. Small, but nice. has full hookups, allows pets, has store...etc

Listen to these folks!!!!
Rally Park has it all and it is reasonable. I would stay there anytime I had a chance. Take a walk through Lazy Days it is better than any camping show you will ever go to.
Enjoy!!!! :)

We love Rally Park too, last time we were there we bought a new coach (so that is the danger!! you know how it is once you start "just looking")...it IS better than any RV Show and they treat you like respected guests - I am thinking that when we want a new coach we'll make the trip...we bought our coach the day we were leaving and so they delivered it to our home and picked up our trade in coach - that is a trip of over 1800 miles - wonderful service, nice people, beautiful grounds, dog friendly, what else could you ask?
