View Full Version : Another Storage Compartment problem

When I open my storage compartment or set up in the rain I have to get in my storage compartments for the leveling blocks etc. Well, the position of the roof gutters are such that the gutter stream hits on the upturned storage compartment door (hinge at top). Normally water runs down the side of my trailer (Jayco 27BH) and is diverted from the compartment door by a small gutter directly above the door, but in this case the water hits the door and runs back to the hinge at the top of the door and runs right into the compartment itself. This will continue as long as the door is open in the rain. Anyone have a suggestion for me. Thanks in advance.

There are a couple of options.
First you can try gutter extensions. They are small snap on plastic gutter pieces that simply extend the gutter drain end out farther away from side of RV.
Second you can add self sticking plastic gutter just above the hinge of the compartment door. There are several models of RV's that come factory with this. It gives a very clean professional look.
Camping World and many other RV supplies carry both of the fore mentioned items.
