Don't need 8 sleeping spaces, just two.
Don't need 2 sofas just two comfortable recliners.
Don't need a table for 6, just two
Don't need bathtub, just a shower at floor level
Don't need unlimited storage, just enough for a couple of lawn chairs, b-que, hose storage.

Do want best fuel economy possible for weight.
Do want smallest unit length and height with all amenities
Do want ease of movement getting in and within, keep steps to standard 8inches, agility of body shouldn't be needed to get into or out of shower!:p
Do want walk around bed that has room on 3 sides for feet 90 degrees to bed.
Do want TV in a position that can be watched by occupants of the comfortable chairs at a comfortable angle.
Do want separation of living room space to bedroom-bathroom dressing area
Do want good lighting for reading cooking areas.

Take a look at the Class B units. We have a Leisure Travel Free Spirit. Gets 22MPG! We wanted the same "stuff" you did.

If your mind is fixed on a MH, good luck with that.

Suggest you check out fifth wheels. They have a greater variety of floor plans that seem to match the amenities you want. Look at Titaniums (Glendale), Hitchhiker (NuWa), and Excel for starters.

I would like to see access doors from the outside so a person can reach all water conections. I have to get on the floor and crawl under the kitchen sink for small leaks or to check for leaks, I'm an old man and getting down on the floor on my belly suxs. Also I'm not into tv or music, make stereos, 5 speakers, a dvd player and a cd player options.
:D

I agree that there should be a MH with an option for just two people. The fold down sofa-beds are not comfortable and we would rather have a nice, comfortable couch or a couple of comfortable recliners. Most RV recliners are not the most comfortable. One of the things I would like to see is wrap-around seating in the dining area instead of the bench seats, with a swing-away table for easy access. You could seat six friends for a game of cards, instead of 4 gouging each other with elbows and the others crowed at the end of the table in folding chairs.

We pulled out the so-called "recliner" in our MH and went out and bought a real recliner from a furniture store. Much better! :)

I guess what you need to ask yourself is are you fulltiming or just a happy camper on weekends? From there you can go to the different RV sites and look at the floorplans. From what I read you really want a 30 ft. w/slides so probably a Class C would work for you.:)

I have a national rv dalphan and like the floor plan very much except for where the tv is. You might look at Itaska or Winibago. They have some models with the tv on a table at eye level. Good luck in your search.

Your wishes were our wishes. We have had travel trailers, truck campers, Class As and tents. None of them fit all of our wishes until now.
We have a Roadtrek 190 Popular. The only thing on your list that it doesn't have is a walk around bed, but it does have twins that can also be made into a king. The bed is made up of a power sofa which reclines from a little to totally flat and meets up with "ottomans" to make full length beds. We love it, and are sorry we didn't discover Class Bs sooner............great for travel, great for camping, great for TWO! (And the dogs, of course :)
Check out the websites for Roadtrek, Leisure Travel, Pleasure Way, Great West, and even Airstream..............they all have Class Bs. If you want a little more room, check out Class B+. They are like very small Class C's without (usually) cabover beds.

I did exactly what you are speaking of. I found a left over 30' HY-Line (no slides) with walk around bed and front living room. Trashed the couch and chair and replaced them with two wonderful recliners! For this you get two things...1) comfort for TV time 2) sleeps two less now. Next the booth eating thing goes and then two chairs with table comes in. Then two less sleeping. Can't get any better than that!

Our first RV was a 1972 Revcon 25' motorhome. It was great as a starter, and we knew what we wanted/needed when it cane time to buy our next motorhome.

We've had that second motorhome for 20 years now, it is a 1988 Winnebago SuperChief 31RQ (with twin beds in the back). It still suits us pretty well, but we plan to get our third rig in the next year or two.

Oddly enough, we wouldn't change all that much, even though there are only two of us on board now (the two girls are all grown up).

One thing we really wanted, and are not about to give up, is fixed beds. On the Revcon, we had to convert all the beds from some other use every night. The Winnebago has twin beds in the back (and we would like a Queen bed next time around). We don't use the pull-down bunk over the driver/passenger seats any more, but it did work very well for one of the girls.

The other girl slept on the sofa. We rarely pulled it out, but it is really comfortable either as a sofa or a bed. I think Winnebago has a different design than everyone else. I wouldn't want to give up a comfortable sofa in my next rig.

The Winne had a rocker-recliner separated from the passenger seat by a small pull-out table. This works very well, and we would like something similar next time around too. But I agree, the rocker recliners are not all that wonderful. Fortunately, the Winne was built before slide-outs came along, so I can use the sofa as an ottoman.

I also like the split bath with a good size shower, and the dinette works for a family of four (but a table and two chairs might be better for just two).

And the Revcon was very short on storage. The Winne was an early "basement" model. Big difference.

All in all, I find the floorplans that look the best to my eye are pretty close to what I already have only with a Queen bed, slide(s), and a modern engine and transmission (diesel?)

We have a National Dolphin also. It is 10 years old, 36', and has a large slide. The floor plan is great. We absolutely love it and know pretty soon we'll need to get a newer coach...we just don't like the layouts of the newer ones. We are pretty much full timers because we travel around doing cooking shows every weekend.

It has only one recliner, but the couch could be removed and another could easily be put there.

Happy searching...we looked for months and studied 100s of coaches before we picked up this one. We've only had it a few months, but it had very little mileage on it and was in very good condition. The price was definitely right.:D

I know exactly how you feel. We started out in a 11foot truck camper. We wanted something larger but everything we looked at under 30ft was not right. My husband is 6'3 and most of the showers were to short as well as the beds. Then we happen upon a 2003 Safari. It was perfect for 2. It is 28ft., no slides. We have a table that will expand to seat 4. A couch and recliner. The couch will sleep l adult or 2 small children. We have a full bath in the rear. The key to all this is that the queen size bed, which is plenty long for my husband is stored above the living area. It is motorized and it comes down on rails. The only drawback is that is order to have it high enough in the storage position that my husband doesn't hit his head, we use an air matteress. We have to inflate it every nite, but since it has a built in pump it no problem.
