We would like to go to Pennsylvania, and some surrounding states, in September & October. Was told many camp grounds are closed due to the weather. Trailer Life showed one closed Sept. 7th! Does anyone have information on traveling to eastern states for those months? We have CampClubUSA and may resign with Passport America. KOA possible but so expensive! Thank you for any assistance.

I live in Southern NJ. Many campgrounds in this area and Penna. are open until late October and some all year. I like Artillary Ridge in Gettysburg who are PA members. Some campgrounds down the NJ shore are open all year or late in the year such as Seashore Campground in Cape May. Lots of campgrounds will be open in the Lancaster PA area in Sept and Oct.

If you do a little research, you should not have a problem finding suitable places to stay. Good luck.

I don't know on any privately owned campgrounds that are closed that early.
Some of the State parks roll up the carpet after Labor day. We are presently in New Hampshire and it is open till Columbus Day. We are originally from Pa. and generally camped to the first weekend in Nov. Their are a select few that are open all year mainly along the interstates. I hope this help you make your trip. Safe and uneventiful travels

One CG that is open all year is Lickdale CG and General Store in Lickdale, PA near the junction of 81 and 76. It is a nice area near Hershey and PA Dutch.

We use this CG 4 or 5 times a year traveling to FL and back.

If you are planning on CT, RI, MA, NH the Cg's in general all close around Columbus Day. Normandy Farms in Foxboro, MA (south of Boston) is open year round.

Enjoy!!:o

With a little research you will be able to find some that will be open. Even here in Maine we have a few that stay open year round. They will shut off the water to the sites, but will keep open a heated bathhouse. I've been researching this myself as I'll be traveling from Maine to Branson and back during late Oct arriving home in early Nov.
