My husband I and are planning to get away.
We have decided to rent an RV so that we can stay away longer and take our beloved dog. Our plan is to start out in the central valley of California and travel North to Lake Tahoe and Reno. We want to travel to a different desination each day, play a different golf course and just relax. Can anyone help me out on how to get started. I begining to wonder if this is the way we want to go.

wheew, sounds like you're running a marathon. why not stay two or three days at one site, play the same course twice. what you're planning is not camping. be sure to check with the office regarding their policy of leaving dog alone at the site. check that the rig is not to hot. don't trust that the A/C on a rental unit will still be working when you return.

I agree. Packing up and moving everyday is a tough, tough way to RV. The benefit of RVing is not in the driving, it's in the stopping. Moving every third day, and not ever going more than 200 miles in a day is about the "fastest" I would ever recommend. And that is border line too fast.

We agree with the posts you have. We have been at this for 36 years and it sounds like 1) You are trying a marathon, 2) you will soon be burned out and 3) you will hate camping.

Take your time, stay more than a day and smell the roses!!!!!!

RVing, Camping is a wonderful "way of life" it is not something that is designed to make your life stressful or rushed.

Relax, layback and enjoy!!!!!;)
