Kinda hard to chase fish without one.
Or did you go get another one?

Glad that I refound this forum!! Last time that I posted, forum seemed to have just disappeared and log-in impossible. Just recently found it with a new name and address.
Have missed everyone, especially 1stSgt. Sure hope everything is ok with him.
Now that I am back, I will try and keep up better.
Travelling has slowed down quite a bit due to the economy and the cost of fuel plus we have a little grandson that keeps us close to home.
He is two and half years old and has developed quite an attachment to grandpa. He stays with us a lot while his mom is working. He is my "little helper" so it limits what I can do while he is here.

OK here it is -- where does one go with a boat in Tucson Az ?.
During our stay this past 2 months, I counted 15 boats in one day --( south of Tucson). Asked my son who has lived in the area for the last 15 yrs --- where do they go to use them? He did not know--I did not find out
Remember that I am an hour from the pac ocean , 10 min from a fairly large river and 20 min from a fair sized lake.
So where do they go in the High desert around Tucson?

Well the ol bucket that is nothing more than a hole in the water that one can throw money in has---- come home again. Now it has a completely rebuilt Eng on it and it will be"checked out" next week. First I have to finalize the new hardwood flooring in the M.H., sprung a leak in the ice maker last time out and had to replace the whole floor. Wait a minute... you said you got rid of the whole in the water money pit (boat),,, now do I understand you correctly that you got the "SAME" whole in the water money pit (boat) back again??? Or did you get a different one???
Sorry to hear about the ice maker springing a leak and causing you to have to replace the flooring in the whole in the asphalt money pit (Motor Home).
Had to rip out the carpet and put laminate flooring in my whole in the asphalt money pit a couple of years ago. Had I known how much nicer the laminate flooring is compared to carpet I would of done it years before.
It's so much easier to keep clean, especially with two dogs, and considering one leaves a pile of hair every where he's been, wood flooring is the only way to go.

well, it did, but some how that hole in the water must have a fatal attraction for me-- it went to another home but-- the other home did not wish to pay for it so it came home. Now it has a newly rebuilt 70HP Johnson OB on it and will start every time--now. So a fish chasing I will go-- sorta missed that old bucket any way.
Was out looking at my "new" flooring in the MH and Ya know it sorta looks nice, at least better than the old flooring . That 900 pound gorilla that wears a size 18 pound coat (LHasa Apso) does not leave much hair but he has a hard time with traction an it. skids and slides very well (LOL)

The hole in the water money pit strikes again :D :D
Depending upon the size of your boat 15hp could be a little big for trolling, personally I have always used a 5-71/2 hp for trolling, just something big enough to overcome current or a strong wind.
But if the price was right you never pass up a deal...
As far as anew Motor Home, they are nice but when the one you have is paid for, you don't mind as much having to spend the bucks to keep it up, but when you have to make payments and then spend on maintenance, that gets tough.
Speaking of MH maintenance, I have to get a new starting battery for mine, its been giving me the final wave goodbye this past couple of trips.

The pit is a Starcraft 18 footer(1972) Islander. The 15 HP is just enough, on the coast ,to get past a normal breeze, in late afternoon, it is fire up" the biggen" so you can get to the dock.
New topic--- can you recommend a brand of shocks for a MH.? I put Munroe's on mine about 3-4 mo. ago and they are very unsat. the old buss really rocks and roles going down the road.Really need to tighten the system up.
Have considered putting air bags in , but, they are spendy and hard to justify the cost v. miles driven.

Monroe normally work for most rigs up to around 16,000 lbs, after that weight point I have had good luck with Koni & Bilstein shocks.
Understand very well what you are saying about the cost of Air Bags, I had to replace one of mine a couple of years ago, they are not cheap but they do a great job though.
With a 18 ft Starcraft, especially one from the 70's, you have a heavy boat (Not like the ones they build today). I forgot about the fact that you take yours out on the ocean chasing salmon where you really need more power to work against the current and winds.

I know 40,000 comedians out of work and I'm making jokes,,, hey some one had to ask.
$7.49 for 2 spark plugs sounds bad, but I just had to spend $212.00 for an alternator for the P/U and that was just for alternator not installation (I did that myself).
Seems the more things go to China, the higher the prices go and the poorer the quality.
